Machinability of Polymeric Composites and Future Reinforcements—A Review
نویسندگان
چکیده
This paper reviews the machinability and mechanical properties of natural fiber-reinforced composites. Coupling agents, operating parameters, as well chemical treatment effects on composites’ are also reviewed. Moreover, impacts fibers’ physical composite mentioned. Fiber volume fraction (Vf), fiber orientation defined. Conclusively, effect is described. It was discovered that fibers improved their compatibility with matrix by removing surface tissues, increasing roughness average (Ra), reducing moisture absorption. Also, Orientation plays an important role in controlling composite. some fibers, including quality distributed matrix; size, length, diameter; absorption; porosity way break during compounding matrix, were found to affect composites formed.

TripleShape Polymeric Composites (TSPCs)
In this paper, the fabrication and characterization of triple-shape polymeric composites (TSPCs) that, unlike traditional shape memory polymers (SMPs), are capable of fi xing two temporary shapes and recovering sequentially from the fi rst temporary shape (shape 1) to the second temporary shape (shape 2), and eventually to the permanent shape (shape 3) upon heating, are reported. This is techni...
متن کاملDamage Tolerance and Nde of Polymeric Composites
As composites are being used as primary load bearing members, the increased understanding of damage tolerance of the material is becoming important. When load is applied to a structure containing a crack or damage, a small area ahead of the crack undergoes very high stress. These stresses cause further damage in this small zone. Initially this damage is at the microlevel: in isotropic materials...
متن کاملModeling damage in polymeric composites
We postulate that dominant damage modes in a fiber-reinforced laminated composite are fiber breakage, matrix cracking, fiber/ matrix debonding, and delamination/sliding. The first three damage modes are represented by internal variables with their development governed by constitutive relations. The delamination/sliding failure mode is presumed to initiate at a point on an interface between two ...
متن کاملMode I Failure of Laminated Polymeric Composites
A mechanical model for the prediction of mode I delamination failure of a laminated double cantilever beam (DCB) type specimen is presented. The volume of material ahead of the crack tip that experiences high stresses due to the presence of the crack tip was replaced by a nonlinear elastic spring foundation. The volume undergoing global deformation due to the external loading was replaced by a ...
متن کاملElectrical Impedance of Ionic Polymeric Metal Composites
In recent years the use of ionic polymer metal composites such as Nafion-based platinum ionomers have emerged as electroactive polymer materials with great potential for robotics and other applications. An effective activation of these materials requires understanding of their mechanism of operation. Generally, the material needs to be maintained hydrated to assure its electromechanical activit...
